Why is There a "Low"-Mileage Kia Borrego Currently for Sale?

Image
By Nicholas W. I was browsing AutoTempest looking for weird, or just uncommon cars for sale, when I decided to look for Kia Borregos, because a one-year only SUV that isn't that well remembered and wasn't entirely popular is certainly something that meets that criteria. Also influencing the search for Borregos was the fact that I saw one for the first time only about a month and a half ago, and since then, I've started to see a couple on the roads, which I find strange. I found this one, and had to click on it. It has less than 90,000 miles on it, which makes me ask: Why? Before I get into why I'm questioning the low-mileage number, some details on the Borrego, in case you're one of the people who didn't know about the existence of this. The Kia Borrego was sold in the U.S. for 2009. What? Did you think I was going to say 2009 through something else? The Borrego went on sale here for 2009, and 2009 only. The Borrego was a full-sized SUV, and there were V6 and

10 Best Looking Recent Cars from Mainstream Brands

Image
By Nicholas W. Cars these days look so similar. The shapes are all the same, and the colors are mostly greyscale or a dark color. More than that, they also look a bit boring, with the lack of headlight or taillight styling that makes differentiating between models a bit of a chore to some. It's no wonder car enthusiasts often complain about the looks of new cars, either they aren't daring enough, or they have to face increasing emissions, or the ones that are daring are too daring, and subsequently look ugly. However, not all recently-made cars are ugly, over-styled, and hindered by emissions standards by people that still decide to exempt the largest pickup trucks and vans on the market. Some, still, look good. Some look, quite good, in fact, and they don't all come from niche sports car makers, either. Many, and in this case all of the cars on this list come from everyday, extremely popular brands. Here are the best looking vehicles made after 2010, from 10 of the most

Short: Is Nissan Finally Revamping Their Brand?

Image
By Nicholas W.      Nissan is currently a brand that is popular, but isn't the most appealing.  They've had reliability issues with their CVT transmissions , they made the Juke , and their luxury brand Infiniti seems be in a tough spot, too. In recent years, however, Nissan seems to have been revitalizing their brand. Nissan's future concepts and vehicles coming soon  include the all-electric Ariya crossover, a next-gen Frontier, and a new Titan Warrior, all in addition to the 400Z coming soon. Plus, there're new projects coming as well, like the electric IDX, IDS and IMS concepts. Plus, in the past few years, pretty much all of Nissan's lineup has seen a new redesign or generation, and certain models are getting cut from the lineup (Looking at you, Maxima).      But with all of this brand reform coming about in a fairly short amount of time, presumably happening at the same time as each other, could it be that Nissan is trying to transform into a next-level brand a

Rant: Why are Giant SUVs As Popular as They Are?

Image
By Nicholas W.      The Original Chrysler Minivan came out in 1983, and it not only started a whole new segment of car that runs strong to this day, but also revolutionized travel for families. Before then, families, specifically looking at American families here, would pile into a massive station wagon, pack all the stuff in the back, and go on a long journey, getting awful gas mileage the whole way. After the minivan, though, there was also a rise in SUVs, and good modern examples of this include the Ford Excursion and Expedition, Toyota Sequoia and Chevy Suburban. The question is, why did those catch on, while minivans, over that same time period, got a negative image surrounding them?      For starters, Minivans were more often than not packaged better than SUVs. Yes, early minivans didn't have a drivers-side rear door, which meant kids could only exit from one side. However, accessibility to the remaining seats was and is easier than most SUVs, as some minivans of today, and e

4 Cars that Tick the Supercar Boxes, but are Not Supercars

Image
By Nicholas W.      What constitutes a supercar? Is it the drop-dead gorgeous looks, the power and the speed, or is it the overall experience of a car that separates a sports car from a supercar? Whatever the formula is, there are some cars that may have an awesome experience, boast great performance stats, and look amazing that still aren't to be considered supercars. Should these cars be called supercars, or just souped-up sports cars? Here are 5 of the best of these unfortunately positioned, but nonetheless awesome cars. 1. Opinion-splitting looks aside, the 2018 GT2-RS has a twin-turbo engine with over 700 horsepower, a base MSRP of nearly $300K, and a top speed of 211 miles per hour, so the numbers are definitely
